Navitas Professional Year: A Pathway from Study to Employment in Australia

Developed and designed by the Engineering Education Australia (EEA), the Professional Year Program in Engineering is designed to equip overseas engineering graduates, from Australia, with the skills and experience they require to commence a successful career.

The program primarily includes training and internship placement to provide an easy pathway from study to employment in the country.

Navitas Professional Year Program in Engineering is approved by the EEA and prepares students well with their coursework.

Features of the Program

The program involves 32-weeks of coursework covering work practice, business communications, WHS, job search skills and simulated workplace training. The program also integrates 12-week internship. During the program, the students will also get the options to study:

  • Fundamentals of Project Management
  • 15-week online Clear English pronunciation course, and
  • Access to the Engineers Australia’s online training platform, myCPD

Internships

The 12-week duration internship placement will offer you the opportunities to apply your university learning in the real-world, possess new skills, and grow your industry network.

Entry Requirements

To qualify for the Professional Year Melbourne, you must:

  • Have earned an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Engineering from an Australian university or institution.
  • Either hold or applied for a Temporary visa with minimum 12 months validity.
  • Have minimum IELTS score of 6.0 with nothing below 5, or a PTE-A score of 50 with nothing less than 36, in all competencies or equivalent.

Engineering graduates from offshore universities may be eligible to complete the Program on a 476 visa.
